Eager’s Newsagents, one of Killarney’s best-known businesses, Trading since 1900. Shop Manager Bridie murphy, Has worked in Eagers since she was 16 , Eager’s has always been a one-stop shop of sorts. Not only has it always stocked a wide range of newspapers and magazines; it has also sold an impressive selection of paperback bestsellers, a comprehensive array of stationary and an assortment of Hallmark and other occasion cards.
And that’s not all. Those of you looking for presents to buy your friends and family members who have just had children will find a wide choice of gifts for newborns at Eager’s Newsagents. You’ll also find the gift bags and wrapping paper you’ll need to make the gift complete.
And there’s even more. Eager’s Newsagents sells a selection of toys, Tobacco and cigars including Cuban cigars , fruit, confectionary and soft drinks.
Its customers can also play the Lotto and even get documents photocopied in black and white or colour and in A4 or A3 sizes.And Laminatining up to A1size.
However, those of you who are long-time customers of Eager’s Newsagents will know that there is nothing new in this. Eager’s has always offered this wide range of services.
What is new is the coffee dock in the store and the 24hr ATM machine outside, These two recent additions to Eager’s Newsagents are certain to make this already well-established Killarney institution even more popular with the people of the town.
“We have a coffee-making machine downstairs,” says Bridie Murphy. “This means that people can enjoy a cup of tea, a cappuccino, a latté or a hot chocolate in the shop. If they’re feeling hungry, they can even have a cup of soup.” While filtering through the learning books,
It’s full of books for young readers or those who are just learning to read. These books are both educational and entertaining and children are sure to love them.
Regular customers at Eager’s Newsagents can therefore breathe a sigh of relief. As Bridie Murphy says, “we’re still the same. We’ve even got the same staff. It’s just that our new premises mean that we can now offer our customers more than we did before.”
The same opening hours apply as before. Eager’s Newsagents is open from 8am to 10pm seven days a week, serving the people of High Street and of Killarney as it has always done.
